...and the winner was
What a great turnout we had for SMT's first event of the
year 2010! By the numbers...22 cars
which included event workers...2 checkpoints manned by Debbie Cooper, Bob B
erry , Jeff Russell, Heidi Orme Carol
Rola and Shirley Campbell...$420 donated, through Debbie Cooper, to her son
Jonathan, for Haitian relief...$70 won by Greg + Patsy DeBord (also donated to
the relief fund...thank you!)...$50 donated by the owner of Planet Wings...1
car heading home on a rollback wrecker (suspected suspension issues).
What an event! Bryan
+ Taylor Lawson and I arrived first at Puleos, followed quickly by Nick + Pat
Imperato, and then the parking lot began to fill! Once underway, there were eighteen cars
(including a lone MB...Phil + Susan Hutchens) on the Poker Run. The area of the run was essentially northeast
of I-40, toward Jeff City, and the Cherokee Dam. The weather co-operated also, allowing
participants low 50's and cloudy, but sunny at events end!
Good country roads were used, many of which had not been
seen by SMT'ers previously! There were
many new PCA'ers participating also, including Tom Click, Todd + Wayne
Whitehurst, Dean Grote (SP?), JD Daniels, and Bryan + Taylor mentioned
earlier. Old timers like the McFarlands,
the Cooper/Berry's, the Sheeeys' (III + IV), the DeBords, the Brandenburgs, the
Berry's (Rick + Janis), and Tim Carpenter as well as Clyde Peery.
A well attended event, especially when you consider that
it's mid-winter, here in ETN. Thank you
to Heidi Orme for her assistance in helping in the event planning and
execution.
Join us next time won't you?
