Spring Thing 2010 will be held in Oak Ridge, TN on April 30 to May 2.  This multi-region event includes a Concours on the grounds of the Double Tree Hotel, a Rally in the Cumberland Mountains to Buffalo Mountain, Windrock and Frozen Head State Park, and an Autocross that is 15 minutes from the hotel.

The hotel for the event is the Oak Ridge DoubleTree, 215 S. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.  (865)481-2468.  Cut off is April 13th for PCA Pricing- $96.00.

CHARITY CONCOURS PLANNED BY SMT

The Region is planning a concours for charity on May 15^th.  Dubbed a European Car Concours, being named a Gathering at Glenmore, the charity will be the Alzheimers Association.

What a great turnout we had for SMT's first event of the year 2010!  By the numbers...22 cars which included event workers...2 checkpoints manned by Debbie Cooper, Bob B erry , Jeff Russell,  Heidi Orme Carol Rola and Shirley Campbell...$420 donated, through Debbie Cooper, to her son Jonathan, for Haitian relief...$70 won by Greg + Patsy DeBord (also donated to the relief fund...thank you!)...$50 donated by the owner of Planet Wings...1 car heading home on a rollback wrecker (suspected suspension issues).

Great News!  Thanks to Tim Carpenter, our Goodie Store has re-opened.  It is an online store that has been set up in conjunction with Charlton Commerce out of Las Vegas.  Other regions and clubs also use them.  They have our logo on file and will embroider or screen print it on any one of the items that they sell.  You just pick out what you want, and they ship it to you.  You do have to pay for it of course.  The region receives a small percentage back on each sale.  In addition, Tim has purchased 18 different items so that members can check out some of the work at upcoming events.  Show off your club spirit with a new shirt or jacket.  Maybe a blanket or a mug is what you're looking for.  It's up to you.  Here's the link:
